Chrome, Zhongwen and Skritter

Hey guys,

I don't know if this only happens to me since I figure there are a lot of Zhongwen pop-up dictionary users here.

I'm on Chrome on Ubuntu and I noticed that Skritter crashes often, particularly when I'm trying to send feedback (correction) and the "Aw Snap!" message appears. It seems that this is caused by Zhongwen, since this only appears to happen when Zhongwen is turned on.

Did anybody else see this bug?

I use chrome/zhongwen/skritter on windows and have seen skritter crash once but I didn't attribute it to zhongwen. However, I don't send feedback often.

Hi,

This may be a bit late of a response, but I noticed it while searching online. I can say for a fact now that, according to my observations:

THERE IS A CLASH WITH ZHONGWEN/CHROME/CHROMIUM/UBUNTU.

That combination causes crazy crashes, in my experience. I had uninstalled and reinstalled chrome & chromium (I use both), deleted the profiles in both, and more and more. I finally found an isolated experiment where I could test (clicking 'comment' on a Facebook post, then moving the mouse over the text-input field - that always crashed it. NO IDEA WHY.) I found a repeatable crash-event then began uninstalling plugins systematically. Once I removed Zhongwen, the crashes stopped.

There you have it.

Update to my previous response, now that I'm doing more updates. Yes, I see exactly this with chrome and Zhongwen. A clue for the debuggers (if any) would be that yellowbridge also crashes at exactly the same time, so I suppose it's a flash crash.
