Stop showing new words

Hi,

I accidentally pre-added a bunch of words on the iOS app (I double clicked on the "add" button and selected 40).

Now, even though I have about 300 words due, it is showing me words with "new writing."

I want to first study all the words that are due before seeing the recently added words, how do I do that?

If the words are localized to one list, you could remove the list where the words were added from study until you're caught up again. You could also try the Save Me (with auto-adding off) to spread them out even more.

Thanks for the suggestion Nick.

Unfortunately the words are not localized in one list. If I do the "Save Me," will that stop showing me words that I have already added?

It seems that what would be best is if there is a place where I could see all of the words I have added and not yet been shown so that I can just remove them from study. Right now I have over 300 words due and keep getting shown "new writings" but they are not technically "new words."

on second thought... Maybe those words which have been added but not yet shown are part of the 300 due words? If so, that might be manageable.

From what I know/understand, once you add words, it is added to the "due words". And it also adds all parts, so each word you add would up to 4 "due words" ("pending reviews" would be a better name).

So, actually as you go through the list, the pending reviews will go down more quickly since it won't give you a definition review just after you do a writing review for that word.

But the 300 pending reviews will also grow as your previously studied words become due again.
